Where's Austyn? Where's Daddy's Laugh

You must be thinking wow someone had to much time on their hands, well I did. When I took this picture I was recently laid off, we lost the house, we were living in a bedroom, and your mom was 2 months pregnant with phoenix I felt hopeless. On this day Papa found these toys, I thought it would be funny to hide you with the stuffed animal you were making me laugh so hard, you made my day.

Daddy's Favorite Pajamas

This picture is so important this was the first time you laughed from your belly, not just that but you had my favorite pajamas on.  I made it a goal every time we went shopping to get you the most craziest pajamas.

Umbilical Cords Are Nasty.

Austyn's 1st bath

To this day I remembered the stench that was coming out of your belly button. We would give you a bath and the stench was still there.  We would bathe you in baby lotion and the smell was still there.  Your mom was afraid of removing the umbilical cord from your navel, until one day I was changing your bodysuit and your umbilical cord was gone.  Your mom found the umbilical cord inside of the bodysuit, and decided to keep it (gross).  Lets just say the umbilical cord got lost a day after your mom found it.

The Promise

Austyn its early morning November 12, 2007 I’m waiting in the hospital cafeteria for the phone call, at 9am I get the phone call from your mom. She lets me know it is okay for me to come in the room to see you. As I was walking to the room I was not sure what to expect, I was happy, nervous, afraid, not sure if I was ready to be a father. I walk in to the room I see your mother holding you with tears dripping down her cheeks, I have never seen your mother so happy, her life was now complete with you in her arms. Your mom passes you to me, let me tell you I had no idea how to hold you, I was afraid that I was going to drop you. All the mother hens in the room are telling me hold your head, hold your back, don’t suffocate the baby, I finally figure out how to hold you. As I held you tight I made a promise to you, I will always be your father no matter what happens, I’ll always be there for you, and you’ll always be my first born. You gave me a purpose in life.

Thank you.
